This was a LIVE blog on 5/6/14 that covered the robotics operation by DEXTRE to continue with the installation of the OPALS payload.
Here is the link of the LIVE event. Today, the Canadarm2 will walk off from the Harmony module to the Mobile Base System.
Here is DEXTRE at Destiny’s module while the Station’s Robotic Arm (Canadarm2) is ready to be relocated.
There is no information about this event and there is no LIVE stream up to this time.
In any case, the following photo demonstrates what should take place today; the relocation of the Station’s Robotic Arm from the Harmony module to the Mobile Base System.
Shown on the photo is DEXTRE on the Destiny module, while the Station’ Robotic Arm is walking off to the MBS. Notice one end is still on Harmony’s, but eventually it will grab DEXTRE. After this, the MBS will be in a position to be moved towards P1 truss close enough to ELC-1 on the nadir side of P3-P4 truss.
Here is a recent photo from the LIVE video showing DEXTRE on Destiny’s lab and the Station’s Robot Arm attached to it and ready for tomorrow’s final step.
Here is the model demonstrating this step.
Scheduled for tomorrow is the completion of the robotics operation by DEXTRE with the final installation of the OPALS payload on the ELC-1 pallet.
