This was a LIVE blog on 5/5/14 about DEXTRE robotics operation to continue with the installation of the OPALS payload. The DEXTRE and ISS papermodels were used to demonstrate this event. See the ISS LIVE stream here.
Due to a misalignment between DEXTRE and OPALS, a new software has been uploaded and DEXTRE has been instructed to reenter the trunk to re-attempt the removal of the OPALS payload.
DEXTRE is entering the trunk.
Getting closer to OPALS grapple fixture.
OPALS is being removed now from payload support plate #3.
OPALS has been pulled out of the trunk!
Next step is to place OPALS onto the DEXTRE’s EOTP.
The LIVE video has stopped from streaming. Hopefully it will resume soon.
Here my model demonstrates how the OPALS is fitted onto DEXTRE’s EOTP.

Next step:
The Station’s robotic arm (Canadarm 2) will place DEXTRE on a grapple fixture on the exterior of the US Destiny Lab, so it can relocate itself to a new anchor point on the Mobile Base System.
